Stronger women; Stronger communities is funded by DCLG Women’s Empowerment Fund.
This one year project started in October 2015 and is funded by Department for Communities and Local Government. The project is aimed at women from all BME communities in order to raise awareness of abuse and how to tackle it with practical solutions. We want to capture the real life accounts of women who have suffered from abuse of any type (physical, emotional, financial, verbal) through voice recordings and create a drama production played by real life actors in a community setting for the first time. The project will also have a community peer support element to it and the women who are initially helped will be encouraged to act as community champions in order to help other women suffering from abuse.
If you have any service users that you would like to refer or if you would like to get involved then please come along to our weekly workshop every Wednesday 11.30am-1.30pm at Womenzone Community Centre. Tea, coffee and light snacks will be provided.
